The Little Things: Consent in the Play Space with Lu of SuciaNYC, Shay Au Lait of Siren Pack
Whether you are a newbie, or a play party vet.. we all need to be on the same page when it comes to how we operate at a SuciaPLAY event. SuciaPLAY events are special in that we use the concept of “Decolonization of Sex, Gender & Pleasure” as a means of challenging outdated modalities and starting the work of freeing ourselves from the chains of cultural/societal guilt, shame, and oppression. In order for us, as a community, to do this, we need to have a firm grasp of what consent means, and what it means to respect bodily autonomy.
The practice of consent is an ongoing process. It is a muscle that must be trained, and in any SuciaPLAY event, absolutely mandatory. Failure to follow the guidelines of consent will result in immediate expulsion.
